Ouverte depuis décembre 2008 à une encablure du centre Pompidou, la galerie Bertrand Grimont représente des artistes émergents français et étrangers. Utilisant des médiums aussi variés que la peinture, le dessin, la sculpture, l'installation, la photographie ou la vidéo, chacun de ces artistes développe une œuvre exigeante, parfois nourrie d'autres champs disciplinaires tels que le design et l'architecture. Hors de toute démonstration, la galerie s'attache à présenter des travaux qui, à travers une certaine culture des matériaux, interrogent notre rapport au réel.
Ce dialogue avec le monde s'articule entre un questionnement permanent, inhérent au travail de chaque artiste, et une mise en forme qui fuit le clinquant et le spectaculaire. L'ensemble des oeuvres présentées est le résultat, forcément transitoire, d'une recherche en cours. Les projets soutenus peuvent prendre forme hors les murs et s'intégrer à des cycles à long terme. Les interactions issues des rencontres avec les acteurs du monde de l'art enrichissent les pratiques et offrent l'opportunité de déployer un travail dans des lieux et des situations autres.
Afin d'accompagner chaque artiste dans l'accomplissement de son travail, la galerie développe un travail de fond fait de collaborations et d'échanges. Autour d'une ligne directrice forte, l'équipe réunie par Bertrand Grimont prend une part active aux différents projets. Il va sans dire que rien ne serait possible sans la présence de soutiens extérieurs, amicaux et professionnels, auxquels il convient de rendre hommage. Ce travail en synergie participe à l'activité et au dynamisme de l'entreprise.
De l'atelier à l'institution, la galerie œuvre à l'aboutissement du projet personnel de chaque artiste, afin que le dialogue engagé au cœur du monde de l'art s'enrichisse de nouvelles voix.
/ Opened since Decembre 2008 and located within a close range from the Pompidou Centre (1), it represents French and International emerging artists. Using a broad range of mediums covering painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, photography and video, each one of these artists develop a demanding body of works, sometimes fed by other fields such as design and architecture. Beyond any demonstration, the gallery is strongly set in showing works which, across a specific culture of materials, question our relationship to reality.
This dialogue with the wider world is framed between a permanent questionning, inherent to each artist research, and a form of display that avoids the spectacular and the flashy. The entire body of the shown works is the result, albeit transitional, of a research in progress. The supported projects can also be brought to existence 'beyond the walls' of the gallery and be integrated in long-term cycles. The interactions brought by meetings with the artworld actors stimulates the practices and bring the opportunity to deploy a work in different places and situations.
In order to support each artist in the fullfilment of his work, the gallery nurtures a deep commitment textured by collaborations and exchanges. Federated by a strong guiding line, the team brought together by Bertrand Grimont take an active role in the different projects. It also must be said that nothing will be possible without the presence of external support, both professional and personal, for which it is necessary to pay tribute. This work in synergy is a vital aspect of the activity and the dynamism of the gallery.
From the workshop to the institution, the art gallery works for the fullfilment of each artist's project, in order for the dialogue sustained with the artworld to be enriched by new voices.
